

CAN creates a network for collective action with other agencies, individuals, professionals, scholars and the disabled and their families.
CAN's research projects cover day care needs of persons cured of leprosy; refugees with disabilities; disaster victims with paraplegia; problems of young disabled girls; lack of awareness faced by those living in urban slums; role of media etc.
CAN uses Action Learning to work with providers and consumers of disability services in designing, undertaking, analyzing, reporting projects and implementing research findings on topics including disability prevention, rehabilitation, equalization of opportunities and human resource development.
CAN maintains a data bank on disability prevention, rehabilitation and equalization of opportunities.CAN believes that advocacy is an organized, local, national and international movement in which people who are CONCERNED about creating a more caring world take ACTION NOW.


SOME OF CAN'S ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
CAN collects and disseminates information about the safeguards created by the Indian Disability Act.
CAN removes discrimination against the disabled. Fights DISABILISM. Sensitises society with the help of media, seminars, workshops, Yellow and Blue Ribbon Campaign, pamphlets, reports, and books.
