The book also provides insights into disability issues through the realms of equality, rights and integration. The concerns, challenges and responses become starkly clear in the light of the real-life case studies presented in the book. The authors then suggest possible solutions to the pressing concerns of people with disabilities and the disability movement.

The main feature of the 2nd edition of the book is the additional chapter entitled ‘Afterword’. This chapter records and reviews the changes, advances and progressions that have taken place in the last 10 years since the Indian Disability Act came into force.

Besides this the book also has the Indian Disability Act, its enforcement notifications, the rules made under the Act and enlists the concessions offered by the Government, amongst other things.
